You do not need to own a timeshare in Orlando in order to stay in one during your vacation. In fact, other timeshare owners rent out timeshares in Orlando, which you can rent for your family vacation. Orlando timeshare rentals are typically rented out by the week instead of nightly. Staying in a timeshare will save you on taxes, which you normally pay when staying at a hotel. Orlando timeshare rentals are no different than in other cities.

Browse the Orlando timeshare rental listings on site such as Sell My Timeshare Now, Timeshares By Owner and Vacation Timeshare Rentals (see Resources). Each of the sites have Orlando timeshares for rent by owner.

Contact the owner via the listing page once you find a timeshare that you want to rent for your vacation. Confirm availability and price for the dates that you are interested in. In some instances, the listed rental price is negotiable.

Sign the rental agreement and pay the owner the deposit or prepayment amount. Some owners require full prepayment while others only want 20 to 30 percent up front. Payment options vary by owner, but can include escrow and PayPal.

Contact the resort to confirm that your rental has been reserved once the owner lets you know that he has given your name and rental dates to the resort. It may take a few weeks for the information to appear in the resort's database system. If this happens, you can send the resort a copy of your rental agreement for confirmation of your stay.

Pay the remaining balance, if any, to the owner before you arrive at the resort. The norm is to pay between 30 and 45 days before arrival.

Arrive at the Orlando timeshare resort and check-in in the same manner as you would at a hotel.
